NATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR DAIRY DEVELOPMENT (NPDD)
The Department is implementing National Programme for Dairy Development scheme since 2014-15 with the objective to create and strengthen dairy infrastructure for procurement, processing and marketing of milk and milk products by the State Implementing Agencies (SIAs) i.e. State Cooperative Dairy Federations/ District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union.
Under NPDD, Fund sharing Pattern of Centre & State is as under:
i. Central share of 50% for Bulk Milk Cooler, Dairy Plant, Milk Powder Plant & Rehabilitation Projects in NDP States.
ii. Central share of 75% for above components for profit making milk unions in non-NDP States.
iii. Central share of 90% for above components for loss making milk unions in non-NDP States, hilly States of J&K, HP and States of NER.
